A bespoke table solution for the TATE Modern.
Commissioned by the TATE projects team to create a folding table for use in the Tanks Studio, located beside the Turbine Hall in the new wing of the TATE.
The space is used for temporary exhibitions and for meetings of the Curating team, and initially used to house the Jasper Morrison exhibition as part of events during the opening of the new extension to the museum this summer.
As a multi functional and linear space, the requirement was for a single table that could sit 30, as well as a series of tables for smaller meetings and presentations, with the ability to fold and be cleared away for exhibitions and events.
Our stacking wooden Theo Chair had been chosen for the space and we therefore developed a folding table to complement the chair, the five individual tables are also able to visually link as one long 12 meter meeting table, sitting 30 people.
Folding tables and stacking trolleys hand finished in our studio enable everything to be cleared from the Tanks Studio and stored elsewhere.
